Choosing synthetic skin for your practice

Synthetic skin provides a surface for preparing your tattoo practice outside a client session. Choosing a format can start with the shape of the design, the space you need and how you want to position your practice surface.

The square format

The INKNATION square synthetic skin comes in three sizes: 15 × 15 cm, 20 × 20 cm and 24 × 24 cm. The two measurements describe the sides of the square. Compare the space your design needs with the chosen surface.

The round format

The INKNATION round synthetic skin is available in diameters of 15 cm, 20 cm and 24 cm. The diameter describes the width of the circle; it does not represent the area of a square of the same width. This distinction helps you choose the space available for your composition.

Thickness and manufacturing of INKNATION skins

The INKNATION square and round models are manufactured locally in Switzerland and have a thickness of 5 mm. This measurement is separate from the side dimensions or diameter, which are expressed in centimetres.

Positioning skin on a holder

The semicircular holder is designed to position synthetic skin during practice. Before putting your set together, check that the skin format fits the holder. The presence of both items in a collection alone does not guarantee every combination.

Preparing your practice

  • Choose a format suited to the design you want to practise.
  • Select the shape and quantity option on the product page.
  • Note the item code and dimensions to compare your practice results.
  • For the INKNATION square and round models presented here, remember the thickness of 5 mm. Consult the manufacturer’s information for other characteristics and care instructions.
  • Check the variant’s availability before ordering.
